It's Official official!

Well called and booked it this morning.  NOW it's official!!

We push off our canoe on Monday September 4th just after our orientation at noon.  So I booked the circuit and rented the assorted necessities this morning.  We decided to stay at Becker's Lodge.

Rough Itinerary:

Day 1: Leave Calgary Saturday Sept 2nd.  Drive 606.9km (6hrs) to Jasper.  Spend the night there.  Kels has never been (I have). Not sure which route we will take yet...

Day 2:  Leave Jasper Sunday Sept 3rd and drive to Bowron Lake 576km (7hrs) via Prince George, Quesnel and Barkerville.  We will spend that night at Becker's Lodge (our last night of civilization for a week!)

Cool little 4min video of Becker's Lodge/Bowron Lakes

Day 3: Load up and get down to the push off point and go to orientation at noon.  And off on our grand adventure.

Day 4 to 11: Canoe the circuit, camp out, enjoy nature. (I forgot to add endure changing weather, get smelly from no showers, avoid wildlife, cook under the stars, pee in the woods and generally everything that life right now isn't)

Day 12: *possibly* return to Becker's Lodge, shower and enjoy a hot meal then take off to Barkerville.

Day 13: Explore Barkerville.  Drive to Jasper.

Day 14: Explore Jasper (or any part that we didn't get to see on the trip out) and drive home.

Day 15: Laundry and get ready to go back to reality.

So there you have it.  Our grand adventure is set in motion.  Now comes the hard part - the logistics.  But hey, I guess that's what last year was - a lesson in planning!

Alright I'm off to make lists...lots and lots of lists...
